SECOND GRADE NEWS

FOR THE WEEK OF MAY 24,2010

Math Facts:  Please practice math facts over the summer! There are many fun games online to play. Twelve weeks is a long time to go without practice….

Second Grade End of Year Party:  Thursday, May 27^th. We will leave from the church rehearsal to get to Trousdale by 10:30 and will leave Trousdale at 12:30. Send your child with bathing suit to change INTO, sun screen, towel, bag for wet suit, and a bagged lunch.  

End of Year Preparation:  Please send a paper bag in with your child the last week of school to take home their belongings.  Thank you!  

Yearbook:  Remember to send in the yearbook on WEDNESDAY this week for signing day on the blacktop. If you didn’t buy a yearbook, it’s OK to make a booklet or send in another book that you’re willing to let kids with Sharpies have J

Thank you:  Thank you for all of the sweet gifts and wonderful help this year! Your children and YOU have been a blessing to me.

PE after party: Reminder that we have PE on our party day. The kids can wear flip flops or Crocs BUT have to have tennis shoes for the afternoon…..

Butterflies:  Our butterflies began to hatch last Friday!!! YEAH!!!

Learning Log:  The Learning Log went home last week. Our Unit 6 Vocabulary test will be this Wednesday 5/26.

Coming Up:

May 26:                       Yearbook signing on blacktop!!!

May 27:                       Rehearsal 9:00am at church

                                    Party at Trousdale 10:30

End of the year program at Bradfordville Baptist 7:00pm

May 28:                       Last day of school; early release

Language Arts: Story: No story/tests.  Complete sentences; synonyms; antonyms; subject nouns; verbs; adverbs; adjectives; article adjectives; dialogue; contractions; vocabulary words; clarifying, drawing conclusions and predicting; main idea and details.
