Academic Highlights:

Math: The students will be working with story problems, lines, and tally marks and multiplication.

Language: The students are reading the story “The Marble Champ.” In Shurley Grammar they will be working on adverbs, adjectives, and parts of speech. In Creative Writing we are still working on key target skills that they need to be strong writers.

Bible: We are finishing our lesson on Adam & Eve and Cain & Abel.

Geography: The end of the unit test is next Wednesday. The study guide is due next Monday. The students should use their books and study guides to study. I have been encouraging them for weeks to learn their vocabulary a little each night and to work on their study guide so they’ll be prepared for their first unit test.

Mother’s Coffee

Our coffee is TONIGHT at 6:30 p.m.  at my house. Directions were sent home last week. My address is 8379 Chickasaw Trail. I am hoping many of you can come so you can hear my heart for this year and I can get to know you better.

Coffee Cans With Lids

Don’t forget to be on the look-out for the large coffee cans with lids (the plastic ones are fine). They need it

by December.

You can also send in a note or call the school and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. I do not get the emails sent to the school in the evening or on the weekends. We have a tight filter and Yahoo mail doesn’t make it through. I always return emails so if you email me and I don’t reply within 24 hours, either call me or send in a note. Thank you!

Kindness Jar

In the fifth grade packet you received at the open house, there was information about our kindness jar. Thank you to those who have been sending in change. It is amazing how often during the day they catch each other being kind.  

Book Reports

The directions for this month’s book report were sent home today. It is in your child’s binder under general information.

Cookie Dough Sales

We are starting our cookie dough sales tomorrow. This is a delicious way to support CCS. If you have never tried these cookies, they are wonderful! Look for the catalog and order forms that your child brought home.

Congratulations!

I want to congratulate all the students who went through the process of applying for Safety Patrol and made it. This is a vital service to CCS and all the elementary teachers can’t wait for it to start!
