The Fine and Performing Arts at Community Christian School
…bringing hope and revealing meaning to a dying world…
The Fine and Performing Arts are considered an essential facet of a great education, and as such receive considerable focus throughout the school. The goal of this program is to prepare students of faith and competence to serve as:
1) strategic Kingdom artists and technicians in secular entertainment and arts venues, and/or
2) as anointed worship leaders, audio/visual technicians and worship arts team members in the local church.
Important Announcement Regarding the Performing Arts at CCS
The Performing Arts have never been better at CCS!! God has blessed to us with a number of talented people leading our talented students, and nowhere is this more evident than in the coming of age of the CCS Orchestra and Concert Choir. These two ensembles have made incredible progress over the past few years, and are poised to have a breakout season! Add to this our Film and Media Arts students, who last year placed second and third in the FAME State Film Festival, and you have the makings of an amazing season of events!

Winter Stage Play, an exciting new addition to our Performing Arts Department calendar for 2009. This show, under the direction of CCS faculty alumni Mrs. Ann Kinnebrew, will give our talented thespians a chance to shine in the area of dramatic theatre. Mrs. K will be ably assisted by our own Mrs. Shirley Rickner!

A portion of the ticket sales will be designated to “spruce up” the CCS Auditorium!
Please note The much-loved CCS Musical will return in the near future, this time in a rotation with other annual stage and theatre events. The successful advent of our High School program now requires us to do full-length Broadway shows. Employing a rotation of events allows non-singers an opportunity for their stage debut, and will also help us insure a consistently high-quality product, greater stewardship of resources, and even more fun!
