Digital Video Production

Thank you for visiting our Media Arts page. The Media Arts class was started in 2007 as part of the high school curriculum. Led by Don Greener, the students learn how to create and edit video using HD recording equipment and the Final Cut Pro Studio application suite. Projects range from song interpretations, both secular and Christian, scripture interpretations, dramas, and more with the final projects being submissions to the Tallahassee 48 Hour Film Festival (below) and the Jim Harbin State Media Festival.

The Media Arts class has completed the first round of scripture interpretation videos.  Students are encouraged to chose a scripture that means something to them and then make it into a visual representation of the students chosen scripture.  It is always interesting to see how the students visually represent a scripture that means something to them.  Below are some great examples inlcuding one done by Becca Maguire (Psalm 118:12-14) and a previously edited interpretation of John 14:6.

Currently, the Media Arts class is producing music videos and should be completed in the next week or so.  Enjoy the two selections below.  Katie Robertson's video for The Corner of Your Heart is a very artful piece and the other is by Zach Berlinghoff which poses the question of whether you are who you want to be.

The Media Arts class began the year with production of commercials.  Their task was to produce a commercial spot that was 30-60 seconds in length.  The purpose of this project is to get the students to start thinking about communicating information to the viewers in an effective way so theat the viewer will remember what they have seen.  Enjoy the two selections below.
