SPIRITUAL FORMATION PROGRAM

Going Deep with God is our top priority

The CCS Spiritual Formation Program is built on the framework of Intimacy, Community, and Action.

 

INTIMACY

  • Learning to prayerfully read and meditate on the Scriptures
  • Required Bible classes grades K-12
  • Scripture-based, Spirit-filled prayer and intercession

COMMUNITY

  • Kindergarten
    • Developing a classroom community that cares for one another and prays and worships together
    • Scripture memory –selected verses that K students can apply to their lives
  • Elementary (1st-4th):
    • Daily Chapel Service
      • Emphasis on praise and worship, scripture memory with sign language, learning to love the Bible and understanding God’s love for each of them.  Students meet in two  groups (first/second; third/fourth grades) for thirty minutes each day
    • Developing a classroom community that cares for each other, prays together and is a safe place for learning what it means to mature as young believers.
  • Elementary (5th):
    • Weekly Chapel Service
    • Daily praise time followed by student led small prayer groups. The students actively learn how to ‘bear one another’s burdens’.
  • Secondary:
    • Weekly Chapel Service
      • Each student is assigned a faculty mentor in their 1st semester at CCHS.
      • 9-12th grade students take on leadership roles in the Secondary Chapel Program (Worship Team (music & drama), Chapel Prayer Team, speaking etc.)
      • First Chapel and Last Chapel are tradition-filled events, beginning and closing the year with meaningful ceremonies with a deep spiritual and educational focus

ACTION

  • Elementary service projects that help younger students develop a heart for the lost and less fortunate in their own communities and around the world.
  • Various missions opportunities (mercy-service, justice and evangelism), culminating in stateside and overseas mission trips in the Junior and Senior years respectively
  • Developmental and progressive training in personal ministry skills, beginning with praying for others and culminating in teaching a Bible study, scriptural intercession  on behalf of others, introductory Biblical counseling, etc.)
  • Thorough and progressive training in Biblical worldview and defense of the faith through honorable dialogue
